the most important lesson that i had during the days in the EIR lesson is the evulation tool this help me in the research of the infomation that i need in my studies. In product design, research is extremely important. You have to be updated on the current products and trends. Especially when you are working on a project, before you can start designing, you must have a certain level of knowledge on the product that you are going to design.

Nowdays interent should be most useful tool, we are able to sell, buy items online. Even finding book from the library. So we do not need to go down and stuck in the library for the whole day and still can't get the book for reference.

And also the online information that is given some may be fake that people created so we had to evulate the website and the information.
Research for us is to find out what is the current product out there and also the technology that created, so we are able to make a better use out of it.It also allows me to take a look at other designers' work and study the trend so I can ensure my design is able to sell and people will accept and recognise my design.

therefore when we do research sometimes using the few points to know if the site is reliable hence when doing research we know that the soruce coming form the site is reliable. not to get unrelevance information.

There is a few place that was in the package that they bring you for a 2 days diving course in order to get the cert! 4D3N Phuket Trip and also a few day swimming test in singapore. they also included all the trip for the whole year that we can sign up for it, and also show the equipment that we may need for our dive.
i believe the most important information is that they have the schedule, price so that we can have an idea how much is it altogether along with the equipment.

This website is very interesting, never really seen much of this website around. This web i believe is by a person comment and views on the current events that happen in singapore now.
Like the incident where the MP was being put on fire, this incident had been a shocking event for singapore where most of the people thinks that singapore should be a safe country but still think kind of things where we could only see in the hollywood flims is actually happening now.

As from the title of the website is call talking cock, so we briefly know that the information in there some may not be true is mostly a person view on the incident and also adding in more stuff to make it more entertaining. The picture or post in there is mostly made up to make people laugh.

This blog is very updated is like 2 to 3 days will have a post about the current event happenings. But still not forgetting is a personal view on the suituation, so the information is not that reliable. The site is more entertaining than just information giving on the topic.

The role playing is interesting which allow us to think about different view of the person like singapore or foreginer. it gives us a different perspective of the topic. So like singapore may understand the launguage that is writen in there but where as a Foregin worker may not understand what is writen in there(singlish).

Today, I'm going to talk about this dark matter which is also known as the invisible web. I've already touched a little on it yesterday so today, I'll just go a little more detailed as I've done my research through the net about this invisible web.

One of it obviously is the TP SPARKS, this database contains information that are only visible to the people who are logged on who are the staff and students of Temasek Poly.

Some of the results can't be found from the usual google search engine therefore, I believe it provides more information of high reliability in the web itself. There are a vast varieties of different source like books, articles etc.

But what i feel is that it does not provide you with the relevant topic to the one that i had enter, as it will only search by the keywords. Whereas, Google they actually give you a few other choices to choose from so you are able to view other web for more information.
Still the invisible web provide vaild search result and also reliable author name and title of the books. Therefore you are able to search more into the topic if you which to continue reading the articles.

Whereas for the tp-E book Database it is not a very good expreience as i feel that the web page is too unorganized and is also quite different from other search engine.

However, after a while or so, finally got the hang of it then i am able to get to know how it works. OH and then i found out actually quite useful in a way that and look for different kinds of book in the library without even going down all the way there. So i wont be wasting my trip to go down, in the same time i can also see what is the book about, and consider if i will want to lend it.
For my Diploma i will use this database to search any books that could finds, as i would find it very troublesome to go there and look shelves and shelves for the books. As in design school i believe time management is quite important so i could get the books online first and get down to look for it. It sure will save alot of time !

The invisble web seen to sound cool, but when i learn about it is nth much.
Ok so about the invisible web is a big database, it contain information that only allow some people to view it.
It can also name as DEEP WEB, DARK MATTER.
it contain actual data and information.
And also the information cant be found on the normal search engine, thats why it is kept in the invisible web.
Like the Tp spark! This is a place where more relaible information is kept.And in SPARK, only tp staff and student can enter, also it has it own search engine.

To be simple a subject directory will be like u categories all the information into different section, this not only helps in effective research also will cut short the time when browsing into irrelevance sites.
It also helps in deatail search on the topic that i am working on. Like for my topic on AIDs/HIV i will be looking into the health section and then on there is more choices to look into.
In this case we may not need Boolean Operator and also getting is same result of the research information.

After the day of thinking which topic to work on for my research, decided the topic on the effects of the AIDs/HIV on youth. This topic is quite interesting actually and also a point for myself to learn about it. As some of us may have gone through some basic lesson during our secondary life. But still the problem is still currently a big trouble to the whole society.

The activity will allow to us to get the basic idea of the whole activity, getting the keywords and the keyword variations. So to get our basic of the typing the keywords in.

Today found out about this new method
"boolean operator". Normally i will just go into google or any other search
engine and randomly type in the words i want to look for. By taking out the
keywords and using the boolean opeartor eg. (effects OR symptoms*) AND (AIDs OR
HIV*) AND (youth OR Teenageers), to get the result that i desire. This actually
help me in doing the research in the report. i found out that GOOGLE they do not
need to apply the AND becuse it is by default.

So it actually more vaild result, rather then typing in AIDs. Then we had to compare between the Google or Goggle scholar. The two search engine, but for me i prefer more to the google to search rather then the google scholar. The scholar will get the result more articles that is on the net. Google will be a better choice for me, but still if i am looking for articles i will use the goggle scholar. And also when you want to view the full articles we need to pay in order to get the whole articles. Therefore i think using this unless i really need the documents.

Then we need to go to the forum that we found and we need to post a question on the forum and reply to one of it. Since is a fourm regarding about AIDs/HIV therefore the topic they had dicussed is very sensitive. Therefore it will be very sensitive even though is only infornt of the computer. therefore, the topic i dicuss will be very gerneral. Also on reply is just on my point of view. But the forum have a lot of useful information, that will be a great help for my research.

After all the sites we had visit and also getting the information for the web we will also need to get down the site so that we know which site we took the information from. Citation and bibliography actually help us to search to back the web easier. As we had all recorded down. So any time if i need to refer back is able track back the web page.
